About Me

Hello, and welcome to Lost in Kyushu! I’m Mika, a Canadian currently living in the Japanese countryside of Oita prefecture.

In 2018, I made the big move from the metropolitan city of Vancouver to the rural countryside of Japan. Fuelled by my desire to live in the country that had captured my heart so many years ago, I took my graphic design and illustration practice with me to start a new life in Japan.

Follow me as I learn Japanese, explore the landscape and navigate the intricate Japanese culture (while stumbling along the way). Enjoy!

All pictures have been taken on a FujiFilm X-T20.
